Providence St. Joseph Health Launches New Health Company, Ayin Health Solution
Ayin will tap into Providence's years of experience in the health management space and wealth of data to allow the company to compete in an already crowded marketplace.

Providence St. Joseph Health, the not-for-profit Washington-based system has announced the launch of Its for-profit health management company. The new company, which will be known as Ayn Health will help providers, employers, payers, and government entities lower cost while improving quality of care, according to the company.
"We thought as part of our growth strategy and to expand on what we've built is to create a separate entity that utilizes our experience as a health plan provider and as a large system," said Dr. Rhonda Medows, Ayin's CEO and Providence St. Joseph's president of population health.

Dr. Meadows believes that making Ayin a for-profit venture will allow for maximum regulatory flexibility and also position the company to attract a more robust array of new clients.
“These are tumultuous times for the healthcare industry and organizations are eager for proven strategies and solutions that will stabilize their business and guide their shift toward a new standard of care,” says Dr. Rhonda Medows, CEO of Ayin Health Solutions and president of Population Health at Providence St. Joseph Health.
“We know that when health organizations are able to achieve clinical and financial success, they are better able to influence and care for the communities they serve.”
According to Meadows, Ayin offers population health informatics and advanced analytics to identify complex populations in commercial, employer or Medicaid groups. The company can then identify risk factors and improve care coordination for those people.
For health plans, Ayin helps with quality improvement, particularly in the Medicare Advantage sector, and manages provider networks, among other services. It offers claims adjudication, processing and analytics. Ayin has a pharmacy benefit management service that partners pharmacists and physicians to help better manage costs, according to the company.
Ayin will tap into Providence's years of experience in the health management space and wealth of data to allow the company to compete in an already crowded marketplace.
"We leverage the experience and expertise of our health plan and built out a separate entity that can be neutral," she said.
